There are many strong opinions in the world on “how to do it right” that sometimes contradict each other. There are also different methods and techniques depending on what hardware you use to mount your rifle scope. Some people will say using a plumb line to align your crosshairs is the only way, and others will say a good bubble level is sufficient. I’ve used both ways and have gotten great results. You can also use one way to verify another.

I tie all my nymphs with the tips of the pheasant tail from the wing case tied in under the fly to resemble legs this also this gives the fly movement in flowing water and gives a very lifelike appearance to the nymph.

The final week was time for bait collecting, good bait is the key to getting good fishing, for the weekend we had Rag worm, Lug worm, Crab and Mackerel. Buying or gathering good bait is only the first part, keeping and looking after it is very important.

Hunt like a warrior

It is unmistakable the sound of the sika stags whistle. The volume of the call echoing through the forest is primeval. Sika Stags give a high pitched whistle during the rut, use of this ‘whistle’ may be used to attract hinds, mark out territories and warn off potential rivals. The “Rut” is a word used to describe the breeding season for deer not just its peak, it refers to all behaviors and activities associated with the mating season.
